In this article, we demonstrate a simple process for creating a meeting summary using Chaos Control, along with some recommendations for improving the quality of the final result.
What Is a Meeting Summary
In this context, a “summary” (or protocol) is a written record of a meeting’s results — including the issues discussed, decisions made, and tasks assigned.
The benefit of such a document is obvious, but creating it manually is a time-consuming process that often lacks both time and motivation. However, thanks to the recent expansion of Chaos Control AI’s functionality, this process has become radically simpler, taking just a few minutes and delivering excellent results.
Introducing the practice of creating summaries automatically increases meeting efficiency while reducing both their duration and frequency.
How to Prepare a Meeting Summary
Step 1: Start an audio recording of the meeting
Whether you meet offline or online, record the conversation’s audio.
The simplest way to do this is via a mobile device with the latest version of Chaos Control installed, which includes an audio recording feature.
We recommend adding a special widget to your device’s home screen that starts recording with a single tap:
Alternatively, you can record audio via the "Files → Audio Recordings" section in the desktop version of Chaos Control, or simply upload a pre-recorded audio file to the "Files» section.
Step 2: Give Chaos Control AI verbal hints during the conversation
When holding a meeting or discussing any topic, provide short, clear prompts (“anchors”) in the following style:
“John, we expect the contract from you by Friday.”
“July, prepare the list of participants by the end of the day.”
“I, Mike, will prepare the API functional description this week.”
The idea here is that AI associates the mentioned name with the action and records the agreement in written form like this:
Note that non-optimal phrasing can sometimes cause incorrect task attribution, for example: “Hey Jonathan, I’ll prepare the website description by Friday”. In this case, AI may assume the task is assigned to Jonathan rather than the speaker.
Therefore, it’s best to phrase tasks clearly, using the assignee’s name directly.
Step 3: Create the discussion summary in Chaos Control
Once the meeting is recorded and saved in the "Files" section of Chaos Control, click the "Transcription" button in the file preview window:
Chaos Control will first produce a full text transcription of the conversation:
After that, a Create Summary button will appear, allowing you to generate the meeting summary automatically.
Please note that the first time you run this operation, it may take 4–5 minutes because Chaos Control needs to download the language model. Subsequent transcriptions will be faster.
The result will be a clear, well-structured meeting summary:
Step 4: Copy the summary and send it to the meeting participants
From the summary preview window, you can copy the text and share it in a group chat, save it as a text file, or send it to Chaos Control AI for further development:
Thus, with just a few clicks, you’ll have a complete meeting summary containing clearly formulated expectations for all participants. If you haven’t tried it yet, we highly recommend adopting this practice to significantly boost the effectiveness of your discussions.
You can use the same approach to transcribe and summarize regular voice notes — simply dictate your ideas and next steps, and Chaos Control will format them into a clear written document.
