Over the past few weeks, we have been studying how several companies use Team Workspaces. They kindly provided us with detailed feedback on what works well, what is inconvenient or unclear, and what functionality is still missing.
Combining these insights with the comments our users leave in the Chaos Control alpha-testing group and under our posts (thank you for that!), we have updated our roadmap for upcoming releases. Below is the list of versions and the features planned for each of them.
Combining these insights with the comments our users leave in the Chaos Control alpha-testing group and under our posts (thank you for that!), we have updated our roadmap for upcoming releases. Below is the list of versions and the features planned for each of them.
About this roadmap
- The release roadmap is based both on user feedback, which generally reflects straightforward practical needs, and on Chaos Control's unique combination of three components: Task Management, Business Messaging, and Chaos Control AI. The integration between these features opens up less obvious but highly useful possibilities, such as viewing and creating tasks directly from Chats.
- This roadmap only covers additions to Teamwork, but that doesn't mean upcoming releases won't include changes to Personal Workspaces as well. We are also doing a lot of work on a major Chaos Control AI update, which we'll cover separately.
- The roadmap does not include every planned improvement. For example, we are also working on features such as creating tasks by sending an email, inviting external participants to a chat via a link, Chaos Control AI integration, easier switching between Personal and Team Workspaces, and other improvements that will be distributed across releases as development progresses.
- The order in which new features are introduced is determined both by their priority and by technical implementation requirements, as some later features depend on earlier ones being available first.
Release schedule
We have significantly increased the pace of new releases lately, as you can see from our blog, and we aim to maintain a pace of three releases per month. At this rate, we expect to reach version 2.26–2.27 by the end of the year.
The next update, version 2.20, featuring checklists for team tasks, is expected as early as this week.

More about the new features
Version 2.20: Checklists
Breaking assignments down into smaller steps is the most common request we receive. Team tasks often consist of several stages, some of which involve waiting for feedback from third parties. Until now, these steps had to be listed in the Notes field:
This approach works, but the problem is that a manager cannot immediately see what stage a task is currently at. Checklists will make it easier to keep every assignment up to date:
Version 2.21: Task comments
Another equally common request is the ability to comment on tasks. For now, users have to add new information to the Notes field:
Once task comments are introduced, this process will become much simpler and more convenient:
Version 2.22: Push notifications and notification settings
Currently, notifications about new tasks and task status changes are sent by email:
This isn't convenient for everyone, and many users would prefer to receive notifications directly from the app. We will also add flexible notification settings, allowing you to choose which types of events you want to be notified about and how you want to receive those notifications (email/push).
Version 2.23: Recurring tasks
Personal Workspaces already support recurring tasks, and many users have asked for the same functionality in Team Workspaces. This feature directly depends on push notifications, so it will be introduced immediately after them.
Version 2.24: Contexts
Contexts, which are already available in Personal Workspaces, will also be introduced for teams. In the meantime, you can use a workaround: the additional "Version" field can be used to group tasks by different areas of activity:
The "Version" field, just like "Priority," can already be enabled for tasks in your Workspace settings.
Version 2.25: Task reminders
Team Workspaces will support three types of reminders:
- Reminders you can create for yourself, for both your own tasks and other people's tasks
- Reminders that managers can set for their team members
- Automatic Chaos Control AI reminders about approaching and missed deadlines, sent to both assignees and admins
Version 2.26: Adding files to tasks
The ability to attach files directly to tasks will replace the current workaround of adding file links to the Notes field. This will eliminate the need to use third-party cloud storage:
Version 2.27: Projects
Unlike the equivalent functionality in Personal Workspaces, Projects in Team Workspaces are intended for complex initiatives involving multiple assignees. They will make it possible to organize your team's activities in a more convenient way than is currently possible using Categories alone.
Version 2.28: "Result" field for Tasks and Projects + reporting
Tasks (and Projects) will get a new field where users can record the result of completed work and attach related files or documents. The key benefit of this functionality is that these fields can then be used to generate reports on completed work based on various criteria — by assignee, time period, category, and more.
Version 2.29: Time Tracker
Optional use of the Time Tracker will give managers an additional way to oversee work in organizations where this is necessary. Further integration with Chaos Control AI will make it possible to analyze how the team's time — and money — is being spent.
Lifetime Teamwork License
All of the features described above, along with everything already available today, will be included in the lifetime Teamwork license, which is available for purchase until October 10. After that date, only monthly and annual subscription options will remain.
